What curriculum does Hollywood Christian School use?

Hollywood Christian School uses a wide variety of curriculum materials. The focus of using Christian-based textbooks is a driving force behind the selection of textbooks and course offerings. However, secular textbooks are utilized when necessary. The philosophy of Hollywood Christian School is that “the teacher is the living curriculum”. Simply stated, each teacher is hired with the full understanding that, as Christian teachers, they are expected to implement Biblically-based principles and views throughout their course of instruction.

What time does the school day begin and end?

School begins at 7:45AM for grades 7th-12th and 8:00AM for PreK-6th grades. PreK-6th grades are dismissed at 2:45PM and 7th-12th grades are dismissed at 3:00PM.

Help Class is offered free of charge to all students from 3:00PM – 3:30PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week.

Bible is an integral part of the curriculum at Hollywood Christian School and is a required subject taught daily in every grade. Students assemble for chapel on a weekly basis in grades PreK-12th.

Yes. Current Hollywood Christian School seniors meet college requirements and have been accepted at many colleges and universities including: The University of Notre Dame, Wheaton College, University of Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida State University, Palm Beach Atlantic, Atlanta Christian College, Florida International University, Liberty University, Campbell University, Lafayette University, University of Central Florida, Florida State University, Samford University, and Florida Atlantic University, to name a few.

What dual enrollment and advanced placement course options are available to students in the high school?

Hollywood Christian School offers dual enrollment courses on campus. In addition to these courses, an honors track is offered to students in grades 7th-12th grade in science, math, social studies and English. Academically accelerated students may benefit by membership in the National Honor Society.

What does Hollywood Christian School offer in Enrichment Courses?

5K-6th grade students have Worship Arts, Computer Graphics, Spanish, Library, and Art/Ceramics as part of their Enrichment classes each week throughout the school year. Courses in Computer Graphics, Art, and Ceramics are offered to 7th-12th grade students.

Does Hollywood Christian School have standardized testing for students?

Students in grades 5K-11th are tested each spring using the Stanford Achievement Test. In preparation for college admissions testing, secondary students are required to take the PLAN, EXPLORE, ASVAB and the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Yes, Extended School hours are 3:00PM-6:00PM.

Explain your lunch program.

Lunches are available at a cost of approximately $5.00 per day. The lunches are made on site and the Challenger Café offers a wide variety of healthy and delicious options. We also have breakfast available and served each day from 7:00AM–7:45AM.

What are the steps to enroll a child at Hollywood Christian School?

To apply for enrollment, an Application for Admission form must be submitted with a non-refundable application fee per student.

Included with this form must be a copy of the last two years of the student’s report card, the most current achievement test scores, a copy of the student’s birth certificate, current health forms, a copy of the Social Security cards from both the student and the parent, and a copy of the parent’s driver’s license.

Parents and prospective students will be interviewed by an Administrator and asked to share their reasons for seeking entrance into Hollywood Christian School, as well as to affirm agreement with the school’s student handbook and doctrinal statement.

An admissions test is required for all new students.
